LIFEGUARD OF THE YEAR
SCARLETT-LILY WILLIAMS
Scarlett-Lily has attended nearly every safety cover this year. Always one of the first to arrive, last to leave and undertakes any task she is given with a smile and enthusiasm. She has done many EDOWSC Safety covers where she chats freely to their members of all ages and is a great ambassador for RLSS Poole Lifeguard. She has now joined the young trainers program and is passing on her skills to younger club members. She is a credit to herself and the club.
Congratulations Scarlett-Lily
ASSISTANT LIFEGUARD OF THE YEAR
SAMUEL TRAVERS
Sam has grown in strength and commitment over the last year. He has always been super keen to volunteer for safety cover events and is a real work horse when it cones to setting up and packing away for these events. He also provided kayak support with his dad at a number of the EDOWSC Tues evening sessions. Sam is a credit to the club. – Well done Sam!
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
WILLIAM CHESTER
William has shown excellent commitment to the club, participating in activities, even when it’s out of his comfort zone, and giving his all to his weekly training. A great lifeguard in the making and a credit to the club.
MOST IMPROVED FEMALE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
SUMMER SOUTHAM
Summer recently joined my group, was quite shy and nervous. She picks up skills so quickly and is very consistent. She always pays attention and is a pleasure to be around.. Her confidence is starting to grow and she always gives 110% and never gives up.
MOST IMPROVED MALE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
BRIAN PEACHEY
Brain has improved immensely over the last year. He has matured into a lifesaver who listens (especially once the beach training started), faces challenges head on and shown that he is very capable when it comes to both lifesaving and competitions.
TRAINING SHIELD
ETHAN PILLEY
Ethan is a young member of our training team, but the level of commitment and enthusiasm he gives to the role of a club trainer, is second to none. The attention to detail he gives is fantastic and the support and encouragement he gives to his group members is just great to see.
BOAT PERSON OF THE YEAR
SCARLETT-LILY WILLIAMS
Scarlett-Lily gained her RYA 2 award this year. She joined as crew on seahorse swim where her confidence grew and grew so much so that for most of the event she was at the helm, her skills on that day where also noted by a RYA instructor and very experienced club cox. She joined in with all aspects of being on the boat including launch recover and wash down. During Brownsea Swim set up she launched coxed the boat with minimal input from the helm and it was great to see her confidence grow and remember all the skills and tips she was taught. Scarlett-Lily has shown great skill in driving the clubs boats and providing assistance during the events held by the club and is a prospective Club Coxswain of the future – Well done Scarlett-Lily
